Tara Murphree is a partner in the Assurance practice with eighteen years of experience serving EY’s technology clients in the Bay Area. She has experience in advising both development stage and global media, e-commerce and technology companies on complex and technical issues, including complex equity financings and common stock valuations, revenue recognition, evidence of fair value, business combinations and restructurings.
Tara’s clients served (audit and non-audit) include Alphabet (Google), Glam Media, Spiceworks, Teespring, Uber Technologies, Infinera, Intel, Oracle, Quotient Technologies and various other venture backed private companies.
Tara has presented on the topics of derivatives and financial instruments, hedge accounting, and fair value measurements at various events including EY’s Annual Accounting Update for Private Venture Backed Companies, EY’s Annual Corporate Reporting update, the Practicing Law Institutes Nuts and Bolts of Financial Products, the Institute for Management Accountants Technical Update on Fair Value Accounting, and Cal CPA sponsored Educational Conference.
Tara is a former member of the EY West Region professional practice group, which advises engagement teams and clients regarding technical accounting matters. She is also a former member of the EY Professional Women’s Network (PWN), which supports the development and retention of women executives and is actively involved in supporting the advancement of women in business.
Tara has a BSBA in Accounting and a BA in French from Washington University in Saint Louis, Missouri and is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of California.
