Meanwhile, public perception of companies is swirling around outside of the boardroom doors. Public relations is not a trivial piece of the overall puzzle of company operations, and it has an overarching impact. In this day and age when information (whether true or not) spreads like wildfire, it is of the utmost importance for board directors to consider public relations and communications. Richard Blake

Richard Blake is a partner at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati and the leader of the firm's public companies practice. He practices corporate and securities law with a focus on public company representation, corporate governance, and public offerings. Richard has represented public and private clients across a broad range of industries, as well as investment banking and venture capital firms, and has been lead counsel on IPOs listed in PitchBook's "Top 10 U.S. VC-backed IPOs" for many years. He is currently the Chair of the Nasdaq Listing and Hearing Review Council, which is responsible for making recommendations to the Nasdaq board on policy and rule changes related to issuer listing standards.

Mini Peiris

Mini Peiris is Chief Marketing Officer at Nintex - the global standard for process intelligence & automation with 10k+ customers. She also serves on the Board of Directors for Appen, a global leader in data for enterprise AI. She led WW Marketing at cloud-pioneer NetSuite from early stage through IPO and recently was CMO at Doma, CMO at Elementum, and CMO at Ambra Health.

Martha Shaughnessy

Martha Shaughnessy is the Founder of The Key PR, a communications agency mission-driven to tell a new story. Martha works with companies from those emerging from stealth through public corporations, specializing in partnerships that require sharp strategy. Prior to The Key, she served as Managing Director for Grayling Communications’ largest US office, after joining through the acquisition of Atomic Communications, where she grew from an account executive to Managing Director of its San Francisco headquarters.

Joe Talmadge is Senior Vice President and Technology Practice Lead at Heffernan Insurance Brokers. Joe has been a lead broker for high growth, pre-IPO companies since 2001 and specializes in D&O and global risk management strategies.
