Deborah Ludewig has significant experience working with entrepreneurs and investors in building value for high-technology companies while minimizing risk. Her practice includes advising clients with respect to business formation, board fiduciary duties, corporate governance, venture capital financing, debt and equity financing, commercial transactions including strategic licenses and joint ventures, and mergers and acquisitions. Her clients include public and private companies and their investors, including venture capital, angel and corporate venture funds in emerging technologies including software, social media, e-commerce, data analytics, IOT, media publishing, and technology companies focused on travel, hospitality and entertainment industries. She also serves as an expert witness on board fiduciary and corporate securities matters.

Deborah founded DJL Corporate Law in 2008 following years of practice as a corporate attorney at large law firms, commencing in 1991. In her prior firms, she was a partner at Cooley, Pillsbury Winthrop and K&L Gates, and was active in leading emerging company groups and participating in diversity working groups. Deborah has served on the board of director of private and nonprofit corporations and was an active faculy member for the Practicing Law Institute for over 10 years, where she authored articles on ethics, and venture capital financing transactions. She is a frequent speaker on a range of topics including board governance and effectiveness as well as other emerging company issues.
